Job Summary: Join our dedicated team as a Donor Support Technician, responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient pheresis process for our donors. Your role is vital in preparing equipment, monitoring donors, and providing exceptional support throughout the collection process. Main Responsibilities: Prepare the autopheresis machine for the donor's pheresis process. Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responding promptly to alarms and signals. Assist in disconnecting the donor once the process is complete. Maintain awareness of any reactions donors may experience; notify appropriate staff when necessary. Utilize a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to document incidents, machine alerts, and donor adverse events. Link associated equipment and supplies to the appropriate donor using the PDA. Communicate any donor flow issues to the Group Leader or Supervisor. Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic information management system per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Understand the policies related to hyper immune programs, where applicable. Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring all supplies are well-stocked. Promote safety by adhering to Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies. Uphold confidentiality regarding personnel, donor, and center information. Be willing to be cross-trained in other areas as needed. Bilingual skills may be advantageous to meet business needs. Perform additional duties as assigned related to the role. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. At least three months of experience, preferably in a medical or health provider setting, or equivalent education and experience. Proficient in basic math calculations. Working Conditions: Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions. Capable of seeing, speaking with customers, and observing equipment operations. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Physical ability to reach, bend, kneel, and maintain manual dexterity. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. Fast-paced environment subject to frequent interruptions. Exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens is possible. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as necessary.
