Donor Support Technician - Customer Service

The Opportunity: Join our dedicated team as a Donor Support Technician, where you will play a vital role in preparing donors and ensuring a smooth pheresis process. You will report directly to the Assistant Center Manager. Your Role: Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process. Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responding promptly to any alarms or signals during the procedure. Disconnect the donor upon completion of the process. Maintain awareness of any reactions the donor may experience during or after the pheresis and notify appropriate staff immediately. Utilize a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to document incidents during the pheresis process, including machine alerts, volume variances, and donor reactions. Link equipment and soft goods to the correct donor in our system using the PDA. Alert the Group Leader or Supervisor to any issues affecting donor flow. Ensure accurate recording of donor data as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Familiarize yourself with policies regarding hyper immune programs at the center, if applicable. Maintain a clean and efficient workspace, ensuring all operating supplies and forms are readily available. Adhere to Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA regulations, promoting safety in every action. Uphold the confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information. Be open to cross-training in other areas as needed for business needs. Bilingual skills may be an asset to meet business requirements. Perform additional job-related duties as assigned. Your Skills and Experience: Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience: Minimum of three (3) months of work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment, or a combination of education and experience. Ability to perform basic mathematics calculations. Working Conditions: Comprehend, retain, and apply oral and written instructions. Must be able to interact with customers and monitor equipment operations. Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods, with tasks sometimes performed while standing. Occasional need to reach, bend, kneel, and demonstrate high manual dexterity. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally. Fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions. Exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens may occur. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required for specific tasks or in certain areas. Willingness to work overtime and extended hours to meet operational needs.
