Join our dynamic team as a Retail Operations Assistant Manager, where you'll play a vital role in managing store activities and driving performance. You will assist in supervising daily operations, managing schedules, and creating effective action plans while also identifying growth opportunities for your team. Position Type: Full-Time Average Hours: 38 hours per week Starting Wage: $24.50 per hour Wage Increase: Year 2 - $25.50 per hour Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support the leader in developing and executing action plans to boost operational performance. Clearly communicate job expectations and responsibilities to team members to ensure alignment and success. Identify training needs and opportunities for the growth of direct reports. Model and communicate the company's core values, fostering a sense of teamwork among employees. Monitor the competitive environment in the community and suggest necessary adjustments to maintain competitiveness. Gather product feedback and make recommendations on inventory management. Participate in the hiring process for new store personnel. Maintain accurate communication regarding store milestones and operational updates. Ensure compliance with inventory and cash handling procedures to minimize losses. Resolve customer issues effectively in the absence of the direct leader. Identify and address hazards, ensuring a safe work environment. Uphold cleanliness and proper signage standards throughout the store. Assist in maintaining optimal stock levels and merchandising products effectively to boost sales. Support achieving payroll budgets and total loss targets. Supervise daily operations and escalate issues as needed. Ensure team members successfully complete their responsibilities to deliver outstanding customer service. Adhere to all company policies while ensuring the security of documents and data. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: Ability to stock merchandise and handle products weighing up to 45 pounds. Regular movements such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking throughout the store. Must be capable of carrying out responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. Job Qualifications: Must be 21 years or older. Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Provide exceptional customer service and lead others to do the same. Build rapport and open communication with team members. Interpret and apply company policies effectively. Set goals and guide employees to achieve quality work. Evaluate and drive performance for self and team members. Understand management principles related to budgeting and expenses. Operate cash registers accurately. Safely use equipment such as hand jacks and floor scrubbers. Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills. Stay organized and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Meet state and local requirements for alcohol sales. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. A minimum of 3 years in a progressive retail environment. Combination of education and experience equivalent to required knowledge. Prior management experience is preferred.
