The Pharmacy Retail Operations Manager provides guidance and supervision for the ProHealth Retail Pharmacies. This Manager oversees the day to day operations of the pharmacies. The Manager provides direction and feedback to the local Pharmacy Supervisors The position defines and accomplishes goals and objectives, assists in development and achievement of departmental budgets, develops and enforces policies and procedures, determines standards of quality and excellence, insures consistency of pharmacy practice and customer service across all the pharmacies. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. Responsibilities
The Pharmacy Retail Operations Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Works with Pharmacist Supervisors to ensure compliance with all Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations
* Manages scheduling for all ProHealth locations
* Supervises the Pharmacist Supervisors and any Technician or Discharge Representative Supervisors. Performs annual reviews.
* Ensures consistent operation across all ProHealth Pharmacies through development of updated policies and procedures
* Manages licensing and license renewals for all ProHealth Pharmacies
* Works with prescribers, nursing staff, and discharge medication representatives to develop processes to support ProHealth and INTEGRIS initiatives for improved patient care
* Manages retail pharmacy pricing, third party pricing, and all pharmacy computer system related processes and procedures.
* Works closely with corporate information technology team regarding all ProHealth Pharmacy Computer related issues
* Assists Director in developing budgets and new programs
* Interfaces with 340B department to maximize savings to the INTEGRIS organization.
* Works to ensure Customer Service Excellence at all ProHealth Locations
* Spends time regularly working as a pharmacist at each retail location. (1 day per month at a minimum) For Retail Specialty Pharmacy only:
* Responsible for creation, implementation, and oversight of accreditation from ACHC, URAC and other accrediting bodies.
* Responsible for coordinating Performance Improvement activities including:
* Assisting with overall development and implementation of PI plan.
* Assisting in the identification of goals and related client/patient outcomes.
* Coordinating, participating in, and reporting activities and outcomes.
* Responsible for budgets, staffing and program activity, productivity and quality as it relates to specialty pharmacy and INTEGRIS Pharmacy 4188.
* Evaluates employees, orientates new employees and administers disciplinary action as needed in relation to specialty pharmacy.
* Develops and maintains procedures and staffing manuals to provide referral information to staff regarding policies and practices associated with specialty pharmacy.
* Manage responsibilities of day-to-day operations for INTEGRIS Pharmacy 4188.
* Establishes and monitors programs and activities necessary for departmental compliance of ACHC, URAC and other accrediting bodies and/or regulatory agencies.
* Responsible for the integrity of confidential records regarding employees and patients.
* Achieve and maintain certification in specialty pharmacy (CSP) to be achieved within one year of start in position.
* Works closely with Manager of Retail Pharmacy operations to implement operations efficiencies into the specialty program. Reports to the Admin Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services, DME and Anticoag. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Certain drugs that are handled represent a potential hazard based upon exposure. Such drugs are chemotherapeutics and some antiviral compounds. Hazards are minimal if safety precautions are utilized. Qualifications
* Doctorate of Pharmacy or PharmD
* Current Oklahoma Pharmacy license
* 15 hours of approved continued education annually
* Preceptor license is preferred
* Previous supervisory experience required
* Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
