The Opportunity Join our dedicated team as a Donor Support Technician, where you will play a vital role in preparing donors, their environment, and necessary equipment for the pheresis process. You will collaborate closely with the Assistant Center Manager to ensure the highest standard of care. The Role Prepare the autopheresis machine prior to the pheresis procedure. Monitor donors throughout the pheresis process, responding to any alerts or signals that arise. Safely disconnect donors upon completion of the procedure and assess for any reactions. Record incidents using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), including machine alerts and donor events. Link equipment and supplies to the correct donor through the PDA. Notify the Group Leader or Supervisor of any donor flow issues that may arise. Ensure precise documentation of donor data in the electronic donor information management system according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Become familiar with hyper immune program policies and procedures, if applicable. Maintain a clean and efficient workspace, ensuring that all necessary supplies are readily available. Adhere to all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. Uphold confidentiality regarding all personnel, donor, and center information. Be willing to be cross-trained in other areas to support business needs. Utilize bilingual skills, if applicable, to enhance customer interactions. Perform other related duties as assigned. Your Skills and Experience High school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of three months of work experience in a medical or healthcare setting is preferred. Ability to perform basic math calculations. Working Conditions Comprehend and apply both oral and written instructions. Maintain high levels of alertness while interacting with customers and observing equipment. Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 100% of the time) and perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Navigate exposure to hazardous chemicals and extreme temperatures, as well as blood-borne pathogens, while using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed. Be prepared to work overtime and extended hours to meet center operational needs.
