Donor Support Technician - Customer Service

The Opportunity: Join our dedicated team as a Donor Support Technician, where you will play a vital role in preparing donors, the donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager. Your Role: Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process. Monitor donors during the process, responding to any alarms or signals as necessary. Safely disconnect donors upon completion of the process. Maintain awareness of any potential reactions from donors, notifying staff when necessary. Utilize a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to document incidents, such as machine alerts, volume variances, and donor reactions. Ensure accurate recording of donor data in our electronic information management system, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Keep an organized and clean work environment, and ensure availability of supplies. Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. Maintain confidentiality of all personnel and donor information. Be open to cross-training in other areas as needed. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Your Skills and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of three months of work experience, preferably in a medical or health-related environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic math skills are necessary. Ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions. Capable of observing equipment operations and interacting with customers verbally. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 100% of the time) and perform tasks requiring reaching, bending, kneeling, and a high level of manual dexterity. Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Handle exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens, while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Willingness to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
