The Opportunity Join our team as a Donor Support Technician, where you will play a crucial role in preparing donors, equipment, and the donor area for the pheresis process. You will report directly to the Assistant Center Manager. The Role Your responsibilities will include: Preparing the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process. Monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, responding to alarms or signals as they arise. Disconnecting the donor once the process is complete and ensuring their safety throughout. Using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to document incidents such as machine alerts, volume variances, and donor reactions. Linking equipment and supplies used during the process to the correct donor using the PDA. Notifying Group Leaders or Supervisors about donor flow issues to optimize operations. Accurately recording donor data in our electronic information management system according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Understanding and following the policies and procedures related to hyper immune programs. Maintaining a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring that operating supplies and forms are readily available. Adhering to all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies to promote safety at all times. Maintaining confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information. Possibly cross-training in other areas to support business needs. Performing other job-related duties as assigned. Your Skills and Experience Education: - High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: - Minimum of three (3) months' experience in a medical or health-related environment is preferred, or a combination of education and relevant experience. - Ability to perform basic math calculations is necessary. Working Conditions - Ability to understand and apply both oral and written instructions effectively. - Must be able to see and communicate with donors while observing equipment operation. - You will be standing and walking for up to 100% of your shift and may occasionally need to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds. - Work environment is fast-paced with frequent interruptions and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and blood-borne pathogens; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required. - Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours as needed to support operational demands.
