Pharmacy Technician Pharmacy Technician duties and responsibilities include performing advanced pharmacy technician duties and participating in quality and performance improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include acquiring clinical data to support Pharmacists, coordinating special projects, auditing, quality assurance sign off with barcode scanning, controlled substance oversight, and billing including Long Term Care (LTC) billing and Medicare D claim adjudication. Additionally, the role involves serving as a resource for automation technology, training & involvement with IV workflow, carousels, Pyxis, automated dispensing cabinets, troubleshooting, compounding, and robotics. The technician also provides advanced cross-training for dedicated buyers, staff, operating room satellite, and retail. They may monitor compliance with regulatory standards and be responsible for inventory and drug shortage management and optimization. Requirements include Pharmacy Tech credentialing from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board or the National Healthcareer Association or the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Education requirements include a High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR an Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience.
