THE POSITION

Standard Communities is seeking a Senior Director of Real Estate Portfolio Asset Management who will work 100% onsite in our Washington, DC office. This role is critical in overseeing the performance and operations of assets in Florida and will require travel to Florida up to four times per month. The Director will serve as the main liaison between ownership and third-party property management, ensuring optimal asset performance and strategic execution across the portfolio. This role is 100% on-site with travel to Florida up to four times per month

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic asset planning and performance management for the Florida portfolio
  • Analyze and manage property-level financials, ensuring accuracy and alignment with budgets
  • Oversee implementation of capital improvement projects and major repairs
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with property managers and vendors
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, in coordination with the Compliance team
  • Maintain and track obligations under partnership, loan, and regulatory agreements
  • Serve as a point of contact for investor, lender, and stakeholder communications
  • Conduct regular site visits and market evaluations in Florida to support ongoing strategy
  • Assist Construction Services and Acquisitions teams with project coordination as needed
  • This role is 100% on-site with travel to Florida up to four times per month

Qualifications

  • Masters's or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in real estate asset management or finance, preferably in essential/affordable housing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven
  • Able to travel frequently (up to 4x/month) to Florida
  • Strong interpersonal and staff management skills
