Material Handler (3rd Shift)

As a Material Handler, you will provide shipping, receiving, storage, and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts, and equipment at the assigned facility. This role requires maintaining a high level of quality to ensure customers receive the correct product in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.
  • Receive materials and/or finished goods on a daily basis, verifying the quality, type, and amount of materials received are correct, along with appropriate documentation such as packing lists.
  • Safely operate distribution equipment as required.
  • Complete training requirements and operate within standards pertaining to site distribution, including Control of Documents and Quality Policy.
  • Interact effectively with internal personnel, requiring good communication and customer service skills.
  • Recognize deviations from accepted shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures and interpret team metrics.
  • Be ready to start work on time daily and maintain strong attendance performance.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and meet schedules.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial trucks and equipment at various heights.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate ERP systems, Outlook, and shipping software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics is preferred.
  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment is helpful.
  • CDL preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily a distribution center with some time required in clean rooms, necessitating adherence to PPE requirements. Shifts include Sunday-Thursday 10pm-6:30am and a day shift from 6am-6:30pm on a rotating schedule of 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 3 off. The role involves repetitive tasks such as wiping down equipment and distributing it throughout the facility. The position may require lifting up to 50lbs, handling packaged hazardous materials, and occasional local travel. The noise level is moderate to high, with a need to be flexible regarding schedules, hours, and overtime as required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.10/hr.
