Maintenance Technician

This position involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment in a steel plate and steel coil manufacturing environment. The role primarily focuses on plasma tables and steel coil lines, with occasional preventive maintenance work on forklifts. Seventy-five percent of the time will be spent in the production area addressing preventive maintenance and equipment breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance on plant equipment, including lubrication, monitoring, repairing, preventive maintenance, and inspections.
• Communicate with operators to ensure smooth operation and detect any problems or concerns.
• Complete work orders and identify potential equipment problems to initiate improvement projects.

Essential Skills

• Experience in troubleshooting, mechanical, and preventive maintenance.
• Proficiency in working with industrial equipment, welding, motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• PLC troubleshooting and electrical skills are essential.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preventive maintenance experience.
• Experience with welding.
• PLC troubleshooting experience is a nice-to-have.

Work Environment

The position follows a 4x10 schedule, Monday to Thursday from 2:20 PM to 12:50 AM, with training on the first shift from Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 4:30 PM. Be prepared to be on-call approximately once a month. Work in a large industrial warehouse originally designed for building warships. The environment is old-school, and while you are out of the elements, it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter due to frequent door openings and closings.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
