Lead Bartender

Grand Canyon University is seeking a Lead bartender to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCU's golf course.
Purpose within the Organization:
The purpose of this position is to create a welcoming environment for customers in the bar through food and beverage service.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose: Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks Check customers' identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies Provide exceptional customer service Adhere to employee conduct, food and beverage regulations, uniform and personal hygiene requirements and report any incidents of complaint, accident, fire, loss or damage Assist with the running of events Be a leader for other bartenders Assist with manager responsibilities Assist with service in other areas of the golf course operations as requested SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree preferred 1 year experience in a similar or related capacity Must work varying schedules including evenings, early mornings, holidays and weekends. Must pass pre-employment background investigation. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Demonstrates excellent customer services skills Knowledge of Mixology and ability to prepare cocktails timely and meeting service protocols. Ability to work with POS system Working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations and current Maricopa County certification Working knowledge of Responsible Service standards for alcohol and current certification Self- motivated and shows initiative to start and complete tasks. Good communications skills with a good command of the English language Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays or extended hours as needed. Ability to pass background investigations. Conversational Spanish would be beneficial. Education and/or Experience : High School Degree or GED equivalent required. Minimum 2 years' experience in restaurant, hotel, golf course food operations as bartender. Ability to work a minimum of 4 shifts a week.
