My client is a well-established general contractor with over 50 years of experience, specializing in both ground-up and tenant improvement projects across the commercial, retail, academic, and corporate sectors. They typically manage projects ranging from $1M to $30M, with some reaching up to $45M-$50M.
With a team of around 50 employees, my client is known for strong leadership, low turnover, and a commitment to hiring driven professionals eager to grow. Their work spans across Massachusetts, Connecticut, Southern New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, with approximately 50-60% of their projects being ground-up construction.
Job Description
The Hybrid Estimator - Commerical + Retail Projects will be responsible for: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to assess scope and requirements Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and vendors Collaborate with the preconstruction and project management teams to develop bid strategies Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis using estimating software Participate in value engineering and cost-saving proposals Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners Track historical cost data to inform future estimates and improve accuracy Assist in preparing bid packages and presenting estimates to clients or executive MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant
The Hybrid Estimator - Commerical + Retail Projects should have: Extensive experience estimating and managing costs for commercial ground-up construction projects, including retail, warehouses, shopping centers, and dealerships. Strong understanding of construction processes, safety standards, and industry best practices. Excellent analytical skills for preparing accurate bids, budgets, and cost projections. Skilled in coordinating with clients, architects, and subcontractors to align estimates with project requirements. Proficient in using estimating software and tools to develop detailed and competitive proposals. Track record of delivering accurate cost estimates that support successful project execution within budget and time line constraints. Solid knowledge of contract compliance and scope definition for subcontractor agreements. What's on Offer
