The Executive Director, Global Emerging Retail will lead the development of Sol de Janeiro's next-generation retail strategy, crafting flagship experiences, hospitality-driven brand spaces, and new-to-market retail models that integrate experiential, digital, and immersive storytelling.
What You'll Do
Define and own Sol de Janeiro's global emerging retail roadmap, leading the strategy for flagship stores, pop-ups, spa collaborations, and hybrid retail experiences.
Pilot first-to-market retail models in key test markets, refining and scaling global best practices.
Develop and implement hospitality-driven retail strategies—including branded spa, hotel, and cafe partnerships—that turn Sol de Janeiro into a destination, not just a product brand.
Collaborate with regional commercial to drive retail innovation in new channels (department stores, owned retail, travel retail, and more), ensuring deep consumer engagement and premium brand differentiation.
Partner with Global Creative to ensure that every retail touchpoint is visually, emotionally, and sensorially magnetic.
Work with Global Consumer Engagement to integrate multi-sensory storytelling, gamification, and interactive experiences into all retail formats.
With Global Education, build next-gen education programs that empower retail associates and spa staff to become brand storytellers and experience curators.
Turn data into strategy by interpreting consumer behavior, emerging retail trends, and untapped opportunities.
Collaborate with the data team to analyze key performance metrics—foot traffic, conversion, repeat visits, social engagement—to drive business impact.
Partner with Finance, Commercial, and Regional Teams to build business cases and financial models ensuring profitability and scalability.
Build scalable retail playbooks for regional execution and local customization.
Ensure cohesive consumer journeys across owned retail, department stores, social commerce, and travel retail.
Stay ahead of global consumer shifts, technology, and hospitality trends to future-proof Sol de Janeiro's retail presence.
How You'll Know You're a Fit
Successful launch and optimization of a flagship experiential retail concept in a pilot market with a model for global rollout.
Actionable toolkits enabling regional teams to execute the global strategy while tailoring experiences locally.
Strong partnerships that elevate brand perception, deliver commercial returns, and delight consumers.
Seamless integration of social shopping and interactive tech into physical retail spaces, driving engagement and revenue.
Improvements in key metrics (revenue, conversion, repeat visits) validating experiential retail investments.
Must Haves
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field; MBA or equivalent commercial experience preferred.
8+ years in senior retail leadership or brand activation roles with proven success in designing and scaling experiential concepts globally.
Experience building business cases, defining revenue targets, and using data to guide decisions.
Track record managing luxury spa or hospitality partnerships from concept to ongoing performance management.
Experience across diverse markets and adaptability to local cultural and commercial needs.
Familiarity with social commerce, AR/VR, AI, and other emerging retail technologies.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
Salary Range $180,000—$250,000 USD
