What You’ll Do TheExecutive Director, Global Emerging Retailwill lead the development ofSol de Janeiro’s next-generation retail strategy, crafting breakthrough flagship experiences, hospitality-driven brand spaces, andnew-to-market retail models that integrateexperiential, digital, and immersive storytelling. This role will collaborate with Creative and Commercial to champion the global consumer journey across new retail markets—fromdepartment stores to social shopping, travel retail, and beyond—ensuring that every touchpoint isdifferentiated, deeply engaging, and commercially scalable. This is an opportunity toredefine how a brand shows up in high-touch, high-engagement retail environments—transforming retail into culture, andcommerce into community. What You’ll Be Working On Define andownSol de Janeiro’sglobal emerging retail roadmap, leading the strategy for flagship stores, pop-ups, spa collaborations, and hybrid retail experiences. Pilot first-to-market retail modelsin key test markets, refining and scaling global best practices. Develop and implementhospitality-driven retail strategies—includingbranded spa, hotel, and cafe partnerships—that turn Sol de Janeiro into adestination, not just a product brand. Work closely with regional commercial to drive retail innovation in new channels (department stores, owned retail, travel retail, and more), ensuringdeep consumer engagement and premium brand differentiationin these high-growth channels. Partner closely withGlobal Creativeto ensure that every retail touchpoint isvisually, emotionally, and sensorially magnetic—not boring, not generic, but world-class. Work with Global Consumer Engagement to integratemulti-sensory storytelling, gamification, and interactive experiencesinto all retail formats—turning stores intomedia, not just sales channels. With Global Education, buildnext-gen education programsthatempower retail associates and spa staff to become brand storytellers and experience curators. Turndata into fresh, culture-driving strategy—constantly interpreting consumer behavior, emerging retail trends, and untapped commercial opportunities. Work with the data team to own and analyze keyperformance metrics—foot traffic, conversion, repeat visits, social engagement—to ensure that every experience drivesreal business impact. Partner withFinance, Commercial, and Regional Teamsto build business cases and financial models that ensureprofitability and long-term scalability. Buildscalable, flexible retail playbooksthat allow regional teams to execute experiential strategies whilecustomizing them for local market needs. Work cross-functionally to ensure thatowned retail, department stores, social commerce, and travel retailall haveclear consumer journeys, seamless integration, and differentiated experiences. Stay ahead ofglobal consumer shifts, emerging technology, and hospitality trends, proactivelyadapting strategies to future-proof Sol de Janeiro’s retail presence. How You’ll Know You’re a Fit Successful launch and optimization of a flagship experiential retail concept in a single pilot market, providing a robust model for global rollout. Clear, actionable toolkits and frameworks enabling regional teams to execute the global strategy while tailoring experiences for local audiences. High-performing, centrally managed partnerships that elevate brand perception, deliver strong commercial returns, and consistently delight consumers. Seamless integration of social shopping and interactive technologies into physical retail spaces, driving engagement and revenue growth. Significant improvements in key financial metrics, including revenue, conversion, and repeat customer rates, validating the long-term viability of experiential retail investments. Must Haves Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field; MBA or equivalent commercial experience preferred. 8+ years in senior retail leadership or brand activation roles, with proven success in designing and scaling experiential concepts globally. Adept at building business cases, defining revenue targets, and using data to guide strategic decisions. Demonstrated track record of managing luxury spa or hospitality partnerships, from concept creation to ongoing performance management. Experience working across diverse markets; comfortable adapting strategies for local cultural and commercial needs. Familiarity with social commerce, AR/VR, AI, and other emerging retail technologies to create integrated consumer journeys. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
