Job Summary & Description: Empowered Services seeks to build a team of responsible, caring, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Portland area. Your goal will be to develop meaningful relationships that build confidence & independence and passionately help those with intellectual & developmental disabilities to live a more fulfilled and happy life.

Working one on one with each customer you serve, you will assess their needs, work towards meeting desired outcomes, and tend to them accordingly with the goal of fostering a positive, encouraging, and safe environment. Our DSPs are our customers helpers, mentors, and advocates.

344: We are looking for a compassionate and adventurous Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team! Our ideal provider is down-to-earth, has a great sense of humor, and enjoys engaging in fun community activities. You will support an adult male by accompanying him on outings such as swimming, hiking, bowling, and trips to the library, while helping him develop socialization and coping skills.

In this role, you will also assist with daily routines, including hygiene, and provide the guidance and tools he needs to prepare for job interviews. The schedule is very flexible, Monday through Sunday, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for adaptable hours.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience with the I/DD community is preferred but not required. Must pass a background check. - *Not all charges will warrant a disqualification. Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver's license, with a good driving record. Must have your own reliable vehicle, with full coverage auto insurance. Must be comfortable providing respectful support with personal care, including bathroom and hygiene. Compensation and Benefits: Starting pay ranges from $23-$25 per hour, depending on a variety of factors, including experience, certifications, and skills. Build Meaningful Connections - Develop genuine relationships, creating a sense of belonging and helping customers recognize their value and voice in the community. Communicate Proactively - Keep in touch with County Coordinators and report updates or concerns promptly, ensuring smooth and supportive care. Prioritize Health and Safety - Follow all safety and wellness protocols to maintain a secure and comfortable environment for customers. Stay Trained and Informed - Complete required state training and certifications, keeping your skills sharp and your care up-to-date.
