Job Summary & Description:

Empowered Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. In this role, you will build meaningful relationships that inspire confidence, promote independence, and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living fulfilling, joyful lives.

329: We are looking for a warm, upbeat Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an adult male in the NW Portland area. He is curious, active, and loves getting out into his community. Whether it's going for a walk, exploring new places, or engaging in his favorite activities, he enjoys staying busy and connected.

He is very organized and likes to follow a consistent routine, making punctuality and attention to detail especially important. His ideal DSP will bring a positive, bubbly personality, the energy to keep up with his active lifestyle, and the ability to help him stay engaged and on track. Experience working with individuals with autism is preferred to help ensure the best possible support.

Schedule: Thursdays from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience with the I/DD community is preferred but not required. Must pass a background check. - *Not all charges will warrant a disqualification. Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver's license, with a good driving record. Must have your own reliable vehicle, with full coverage auto insurance. Must be comfortable providing respectful support with personal care, including bathroom and hygiene. Compensation and Benefits: Starting pay ranges from $23-$25 per hour, depending on a variety of factors, including experience, certifications, and skills. Encourage Growth and Exploration - Foster skill development, hobbies, interests, and community engagement, helping customers build confidence and independence. Build Meaningful Connections - Develop genuine relationships, creating a sense of belonging and helping customers recognize their value and voice in the community. Communicate Proactively - Keep in touch with County Coordinators and report updates or concerns promptly, ensuring smooth and supportive care. Prioritize Health and Safety - Follow all safety and wellness protocols to maintain a secure and comfortable environment for customers. Stay Trained and Informed - Complete required state training and certifications, keeping your skills sharp and your care up-to-date. Make a Positive Difference Every Day - Approach each day with compassion, patience, and understanding. Serve as a mentor, advocate, and companion, bringing encouragement, laughter, and meaningful support to customers' lives.
