We’re looking for an enthusiastic part-time cook who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools, are required. Flexibility to work weekend hours and holidays if necessary, as well as some extended hours Must be comfortable handling sharp knives and other kitchen tools when prepping food We’d prefer it if you have an associate's degree (AA), or equivalent, but it’s not required for the job Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, pull heavy items, and stand on your feet for your entire shift You should possess the basic knowledge of food preparation and perform these duties with minimal supervision from the head cook or chef Observe all company-required food safety guidelines and protocols in the areas where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is utilized Keep all prep and workstation areas organized and equipment hygienic and sanitized at closing Perform other basic cooking duties as necessary, such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups, reducing sauces, and assisting other cooks in the kitchen if needed Use the correct amounts of condiments, wash all fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix a variety of sauces Understand recipe instructions, measurements, meal charts, and labels written in English and use all measuring tools properly
