Position: Cook

FLSA: Full-Time

Schedule: This position will be located at the Augustine Institute in Florissant, Missouri

Reporting to: Food and Beverage Director


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations, with a focus on delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment.---

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards

· Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and presented attractively

· Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures

· Assist in inventory management and ordering of supplies

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and workspaces

· Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations

· Adapt to special dietary requests and menu changes

· Monitor food stock and minimize waste

· Perform opening and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role

· Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures

· Understanding of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Good communication and teamwork skills

· High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a plus

· Lift and carry up to 50 pounds

· Work in hot, humid, and noisy environments
