Under direction of the Director of Athletics, the AAD provides leadership & assistance in coordinating all athletic activities including scheduling, publishing, game management, in-service training, maintaining documentation, and more, as well as offers Christ-centered customer service between the athletic department & students, parents, employees, press, etc.
This position will also have a focus on the Middle School Athletic Program & will help to implement & monitor plans, programs, and processes that support & advance the holistic (spiritual, physical, emotional, etc.) development of the student-athletes & the coaches at MVC. The AAD will also help promote the professional development & discipleship of each coach, offering mentoring, encouragement, and feedback opportunities.
Essential Job Duties:
Plan, organize, and coordinate the Middle School Athletic Program. Attend assigned athletic events as directed by the Director of Athletics. Coordinate & oversee lead coaches' certification process. With the Director of Athletics, play a leadership role in matters of staffing & evaluation of coaches. Promotes a sense of teamwork & camaraderie among the different coaches & teams. Participate in school registration & open houses. Meets annually with assigned coaches to discuss the coach's goals, needs, and aspirations as they relate to athletics & MVC in general, and to the coach's team & professional development in particular. Assures that a comprehensive system is in place in which the school advocates to college coaches & staff on behalf of MVC student-athletes who have the potential to play sports in college. Actively support & participate in the development of the spiritual growth of those in our community. Develops, plans, and shares programs, speakers, and resources that contribute in vital ways to the ongoing professional learning of each coach. Provide specific training & mentoring for new coaches at MVC. Supervise & evaluate the work of coaches and/or staff as assigned. Help plan & coordinate 3 Dimensional Coach Program for all coaches in the MVC program. Other duties, projects, tasks, and responsibilities, as assigned. Requirements Should possess excellent communication skills, both written & verbal. Must be able to work in a busy environment & multitask. Must have above average computer literacy skills. Demonstrate a willingness to establish & maintain cooperative & effective working relationships with faculty, students, parents and staff members. Bachelor's Degree. 3-5 years of experience in school athletics.

$68,640 - $80,000, annually
