Warehouse Supervisor Position Overview The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safety. This includes supervising staff, managing inventory, handling orders, ensuring compliance with safety programs, and delivering excellent customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receipt, documentation, storage, safety, inventory control, and distribution of products. • Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse staff; assign workloads and ensure productivity. • Manage customer service activities including incoming calls, order processing, and issue resolution. • Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment: receive, pack, load, and prepare shipments and deliveries. • Monitor inventory levels, process requisitions, and maintain accurate records, reports, and logs. • Manage warehouse safety programs; ensure compliance with inspections, audits, and monthly safety trainings. • Oversee customer order entry, billing, accounts receivable, and maintenance of accurate pricing records. • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment, including forklifts; ensure proper servicing and upkeep. • Establish and enforce warehouse standards, policies, and procedures. • Support staffing needs, employee training, and basic HR-related functions. • Assist customers as needed and uphold service quality. • Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Knowledge of warehousing methods, inventory control, and distribution processes. • Proficiency in warehouse operations, equipment use, and safety regulations. • Strong understanding of record-keeping, reporting, and inventory systems. • Ability to train, supervise, and lead a warehouse team effectively. • Strong organizational and scheduling skills with attention to detail. • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to lift, move, and store materials safely. • Proficiency with automated warehouse and inventory management systems. • Strong interpersonal skills with tact, patience, and courtesy. Education & Experience • High School Diploma or GED required. • 3+ years of experience in the building materials industry or in a warehouse/distribution leadership role. • Experience leading projects or teams in a manufacturing environment preferred. Physical Demands • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. with team assistance. • Frequent walking and standing throughout the workday
