Furmano Foods is seeking a servant leader and results-driven operations manager to lead and continuously improve our Warehouse operations. The person selected for this role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of warehousing functions from palletizing to labeling and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strong servant leadership skills, Manufacturing Resource Planning competence, and the ability to take technical process ownership of our labeling lines and palletizing equipment.
As a working leader, this individual will serve as a coach, a technical problem-solver, and a steward of Furmano’s culture. They will lead a team of supervisors, operators, and support staff, driving improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety—all while modeling Furmano’s core values of safety, gratitude, honesty, kindness, diligence, unity, and stick-to-it-iveness.
Duties and Responsibilities: Food safety is the responsibility of every employee. Any issues should be brought to the immediate attention of area supervisor or manager.
Servant Leadership & People Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing warehouse team through clear expectations, active listening, and daily engagement. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement in line with our 'Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast' operating philosophy. Foster open communication and positive relationships across Production, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Customer Service.
Operations Management Oversee daily warehouse activities, including labeling, palletizing, pouch sorting, storage optimization, and order fulfillment. Ensure execution of the operational vision and strategies set by the VP of Supply Chain. Monitor and lead efforts to enhance department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including throughput, labor efficiency, cost per case, product damage, and order accuracy. Lead the coordination and tasking of warehouse supervisors to meet daily, weekly, and seasonal priorities. Technical Ownership (Process Engineering) Serve as technical owner of labeling and palletizing equipment. Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and IT to resolve root causes of downtime, implement automation improvements, and drive uptime performance. Lead continuous improvement projects that reduce waste, improve first-pass quality, and enhance system throughput. Analyze performance data to identify trends and develop action plans to improve line efficiency and reduce variance. Inventory and Quality Control Own the inventory control process for the warehouse. Ensure labeling, packaging, and shipping processes maintain product integrity and meet customer requirements. Lead or support rework and quality recovery efforts when needed. Cross-functional Collaboration Partner with Maintenance to ensure the PM program is robust and minimizes equipment failures. Collaborate with Procurement and Planning to streamline material flows and reduce changeovers. Participate in Safety Walks, Quality Reviews, and other cross-functional improvement teams. Physical Demands & Working Conditions This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring daily presence in both warehouse and office environments. Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to operate and interface with technical equipment and software platforms.

Work Schedule: This position typically follows the hours of the 1st shift schedule to work; however, working days may vary based on season. Typically, Monday through Friday. Very often Saturday & 12 hours Shifts may be required during busy times.
