POSITION OVERVIEW: Warehouse Manager is responsible for the management of the entire warehouse, including, planning, direction, and coordination of all storage and distribution operations within Gold Star. The Warehouse Manager oversees the daily objectives of the Warehouse Department and ensures work goals are being met in a timely and effective manner. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and manage the daily operations, inventory and facility functions of the warehouse and ensure that goals are being met and/or exceeded. Develop facility operating plans and oversee implementation. Generate inventory control and scheduling tools. Confer with all departmental leaders to coordinate activities. Ensure that staff members can understand and implement proven, effective work practices. Direct and coordinate activities of workers to achieve company goals and guidelines. Interview job applicants. Hire, discharge, discipline, transfer, or promote workers. Evaluate performance of employees or contract personnel. Conduct or attend staff meetings. Apply conflict resolution techniques. Apply principles or theories of business management. Work closely with the Human Resource Department to be compliant with all local, state, and federal employment rules, regulations, and laws. Examine documents for completeness, accuracy, or conformance to standards. Implement profitability plan with creative and continuous improvement ideas. Substitute for hands-on staff when circumstances require. Establish cost reduction strategies. Be a resource to departments/employees in handling facility and product delivery issues. Contact with outside resources may be needed as the occasion may require. Implement warehouse policies and procedures and manage day- to-day business activities which include safety, quality control, and customer satisfaction. Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills. Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and adjust to sudden changes in customer demands and operational goals. Analyze and research problems and provide resolutions. Monitor and lead change through continuous improvement. Demonstrate ability to multi-task. Handle increased responsibility above normal duties as activity demands. Maintain a high degree of visibility and involvement with all warehouse employees. Work as a team with all the management to ensure that the overall needs of the business are being met or exceeded. REQUIRED SKILLS: Excellent skill in both verbal and written communication Strong organizational skills, great multi-tasker, attention to detail Not afraid to resolve customer issues. Thrives in an independent work environment, self-motivated, and structured. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Customer Service focus and excellent phone skills. Proficient in Microsoft office and NAV. Establish priorities and make decisions. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Extensive and diversified background with at least 3 years of related management experience.
