Job Summary
Were looking for a full-time (or part-time) veterinarian who is a compassionate, team player and strong communicator. We are a small animal hospital operating out of the Fairfax district.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine examinations
  • Diagnose illnesses and recommend treatment
  • Perform surgeries including dental, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (Optional)
  • Administer vaccinations
  • Perform spay and neuter surgeries (Optional)
  • Prescribe medication
  • Advise pet owners on preventative healthcare, nutrition, and overall pet well-being
  • Update client records

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
  • Active veterinary state license
  • Current DEA License preferred but not required
  • USDA Accreditation preferred but not required
  • Must be compassionate and sympathetic, and be able to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations.
  • Must have telephone and computer skills.
  • Previous work experience as a veterinarian
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical concepts in simple terms
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Availability to take evening, weekend, or on-call shifts when necessary
  • Patience and a love for animals
