Position Overview:
The Valet Shift Manager is responsible for the supervision of all parking facilities and valet parking operations during an assigned shift, ensuring superior service to all patrons and guests of the Hotel/Casino. The Valet Shift Manager will assist the staff as necessary to facilitate parking operations efficiently and professionally. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Mount Airy Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control standards and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for supervising the operation of all parking facilities, valet parking and shuttle service during an assigned shift.
- Promotes positive guest, employee and public relations at all times.
- Responsible for the quality, consistency and presentation of all products and services delivered to guests.
- Enforces departmental policies, procedures, standards and revenue controls. Makes recommendations.
- Participates in the department's training program to encompass general knowledge and ensure knowledge of all safety regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
- Ensures the smooth and efficient flow of traffic and operation of valet parking system. Assists Door and Bell as necessary to facilitate parking.
- Provides on demand reports regarding parking status and capacity. Provides reports regarding parking operations and revenue.
- Ensures the safe handling and security of vehicles.
- Works to meet departmental goals and objectives to provide expedient and efficient service.
- Promptly reports any vehicle incidents or accidents to management. Reports any concerns pertaining to parking facilities. Provides written reports.
- Coordinates efforts and communicates information with all related departments to ensure effective guest service and internal service. Fosters good working relationships with internal areas.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel and casino to assist with guest inquiries.
- Investigates and resolves all guest complaints and concerns. Responds to all guests' concerns, complaints or incidents in a timely and courteous manner.
- Works to accommodate guest requests appropriately, timely and efficiently.
- Participates in the hiring process and schedules staff to maintain appropriate staffing levels according to budgeted allocations and business needs.
- Monitors employee productivity, evaluates and addresses employee job performance, providing praise, motivation and counseling appropriately.
- Handles payroll processes/approvals and departmental expenses ensuring adherence to established budgets.
- Ensures timely and appropriate issuance of performance appraisals for all subordinates.
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard free and harassment free work environment within the areas of responsibility.
- Assists in other projects and handles job tasks as deemed appropriate.
- Attends meetings as necessary.
- Meets attendance guidelines and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Qualifications
Essential Job Requirements:
- Must be able to perform each of the essential functions and responsibilities satisfactorily.
- Must be a minimum 21 years of age or older upon employment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and clean record for the past five years.
- One to three years valet parking supervisory experience preferred. Casino valet parking supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be able to operate all manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Proficient computer/PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Possesses excellent customer service, organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal, motivational and leadership qualities.
- Flexible to work any scheduled shifts and/or days, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and understand, analyze, interpret and communicate guest or operational data and information to achieve objectives.
- Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Pennsylvania Gaming License, if necessary.

- Must be able to stand, walk and move through all property areas. Must be able to stand, walk and run for long periods.

- Adequate manual dexterity to operate office equipment and engage in lifting up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a non-gaming license as required by the PGCB.
- Must be able to handle exposure to areas where smoking is permitted.
- Must be able to handle exposure to vehicle exhaust and work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Must have oral and aural acuity and ability to respond to cues.
