Sign On Bonus up to $4500 for full time providers for external candidates Position: Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Location: New London Schedules: Part-time Salary Range: $ 79,591 - 103,437 / year Bonus: Monthly ( based on volumes ) & Quarterly ( based on patient satisfaction and quality metrics ) Shift Differentials apply in addition for evening and weekends We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in Hamden and surrounding region. Job Summary Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary. Job Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners Work Experience 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred Required Licenses/Certifications National Certification Active state medical licensure Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills Strong communication and customer service skills Essential Functions Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives. Following are the essential functions of the job. - Examining and treating patients - Taking patients' medical histories - Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays - Making diagnoses and prescribing medications - Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting - Recording progress notes for follow-up patients - Educating and counseling patients - Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients - Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care - Each provider will work an anticipated four (4), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care - All other duties as assigned Connect with us: Have questions or need more information?
