Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Job RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree required for Physician AssistantsMaster's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersWork Experience2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience requiredMinimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferredRequired Licenses/CertificationsNational CertificationActive state medical licensureAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredWork experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room settingApplicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities PreferredKnowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records Ability to be attentive with strong listening skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsEssential FunctionsEssential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives.
