First-to-float to MedSurg as needed. Provide high-quality, patient-centered labor and delivery nursing care in a 3-room Family Birth Center Manage assignments with ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned, coordinating patient care and staff communication Perform neonatal care during C-sections with support from RT and anesthesia as needed Float to MedSurg for tasking and cross-cover as unit needs arise Document clinical care accurately in Cerner and participate in unit-based quality efforts Maintain readiness for emergency interventions and collaborate with RT and pharmacy teams

Qualifications

Active RN license in California (or compact license if applicable and accepted by facility) Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Labor & Delivery experience preferred) Current BLS (AHA), NRP, and ACLS certifications AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) certification required COVID-19 vaccination required as part of submission Charge nurse experience or demonstrated leadership skills preferred

Education

Active RN license (ADN or BSN). BSN is not required for submission but may be preferred by some candidates.

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient with Cerner electronic medical record/charting Strong labor, delivery, and neonatal assessment skills Competent in fetal monitoring and AWHONN AFM practices Ability to prioritize in 1:1 to 1:4 ratio environments Comfortable floating to MedSurg and adapting to different unit workflows Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking under pressure
