Requirements & Qualifications

  • Years of Experience: 3 years (2 years considered if from high-volume Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center)
  • Patient Ratio Experience: 1:4-6
  • Charting System: Not specified
  • Community Hospital Experience: Required
  • Travel Experience: Not required (1st time travelers accepted with 3+ years ED experience)
  • Certifications (Required): BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
  • Certifications (Preferred): CEN, Prophecy Relias advanced EKG
  • Skills (Preferred):
    • IV therapy/Phlebotomy (Arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, starting IVs)
    • Medications (Continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation)
    • Respiratory (CPAP/BiPAP*, ventilated patients*)
    • Neurological (CVA, ICP monitoring*, neuro-trauma*, spinal cord injury*, traumatic brain injury*)
    • Shock/Trauma (Gunshot wounds*, traumatic amputation*)
    • Pediatrics (Head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury*)
    • Cardiac Monitoring (Dysrhythmias interpretation and management)
    • Orthopedics (Ortho-Trauma*)
    • Professional Topics: Isolation Precautions, Triage*
  • Precepting and training experience preferred

  • Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
  • Daily Visits: Approx. 120
  • Number of Beds: 54
  • Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, PT, Respiratory, Interpretation, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary
  • Special Procedures: Primary Stroke Center (Gold+ with AHA), STEMI certified, 2 locked behavioral health units (1:6 ratio), 2 rapid evaluation units for urgent and critical care
