Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT), and 1+ year of Cath Lab experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialized role for experienced Cath Lab Technicians is available to support a broad spectrum of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This travel opportunity offers engagement with advanced technology while ensuring exceptional patient care and safety in a dynamic cath lab environment located in San Marcos, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain cath lab equipment and supplies for procedures, ensuring strict sterile technique.
- Document patient information accurately in cath lab systems and monitor hemodynamic and ECG data during procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and team members to optimize departmental efficiency and patient care.
- Operate and maintain complex cath lab devices, including IVUS, ICE, contrast injectors, rotational atherectomy, and assist devices such as IABP and LVAD.
- Serve as preceptor for junior technicians and provide expertise in advanced cardiac procedures.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, radiation safety, and organizational policies.
- Participate in patient transport and manage access site care.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Associate degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or related healthcare field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Diagnostic, Interventional Radiology, or Cath/EP Lab required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (AHA) required.
- Must hold one of the following certifications: RCIS, RCES, RCS by CCI; Radiography (R), CI, CV, VI by ARRT; or Ultrasound credentials by ARDMS or ARRT.
- Proven ability to uphold sterile technique and high safety standards.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- 16-18 days on schedule with 3 weekends every 6 weeks (holiday coverage required)
