WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Transportation Support Specialist is a non-exempt position responsible for providing transportation and on-site supervision to children in out-of-home care.
Provide transportation and supervision of children to/from school, office, foster and/or group homes, and other locations in the community
Provide supervision to youth at the office, during transport, or in other community locations, as required
Provide, strengthen, and maintain a positive mentoring role by developing rapport with youth under supervision
Utilize de-escalation and intervention techniques to assist in stabilizing youth in crisis
Assist other program staff and intervene in crisis situations as necessary
Attempt to create, strengthen, and maintain positive, supportive working relationships between youth, caregivers, and other professionals involved in serving the youth
Provide completed documentation for services rendered within the required timeframes to case management program staff
Assist with on-call when necessary in accordance with agency policy and program procedure
Maintain client confidentiality according to established policies, federal and state statutes, by obtaining needed releases of information
Perform all other duties as assigned
WHAT WE OFFER:
$20.00 per hour

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children and/or families preferred
Knowledge of child development preferred
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to be dependable, flexible, and empathetic
Ability to function independently and as a team member
Ability to use verbal de-escalation skills
Ability to work in high-stress situations
Ability to work with individuals who exhibit physically and/or verbally aggressive behaviors
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
Must have a valid driver's license with auto insurance coverage
