New Life Center is seeking a Thrift Store Attendant for Hope's Closet who is experienced in retail services and passionate about New Life Center's mission of helping to eliminate domestic and sexual violence through support services, education, and expertise. Owned and operated by New Life Center, Hope's Closet operates for two primary purposes. First, survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking, and their children, who are being served by one of New Life Center's programs have access to free clothing, household items, and furniture. Second, all of Hope's Closet retail sales to the general public directly support New Life Center's programs. It's not just a job - your efforts make a difference in people's lives!

Work Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-3pm

JOB SUMMARY:

The Hope's Closet Thrift Store Attendant is responsible for providing high quality customer and retail services, while upholding the mission, vision, and values of New Life Center. This position is responsible for assisting with organizing, sorting, store front arrangement and upkeep, and pricing donations to the Hope's Closet donation center. The Thrift Store Attendant also greets customers, answers questions, and assists with customer check-outs as needed.

What You Will Do:

• Help customers with purchases and answer questions about merchandise or store procedures in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist donors with donation drop offs and processing donations in an efficient manner.
• Promptly and efficiently process donations by sorting, pricing, sizing, and organizing donations.
• Respond to phone calls with attention to high-quality customer service.
• Help maintain the appearance of the store and ensure that merchandise is easily accessible.
• Ensure that donation room and outside donation area is organized, neat, orderly, clean, and safe.
• Operate the cash register and accurately complete all related paperwork.
• Maintain friendly and positive attitude toward customers and donors.
• Be a passionate advocate for New Life Center's mission, vision, and core values of compassion, resilience, equity, and community.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently possess or ability to successfully obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card. **
• Negative TB test required. **

**If necessary, New Life Center will complete these areas of qualification during the onboarding process.

PREFERRED

• One or more years of experience in retail/sales environment.
• One or more years of thrift store experience within a human services agency.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
