Job Type Full-time Description The primary role is assembly operations with small group oversight. Additional assigned duties are to provide immediate assistance to other assemblers.
Responsibilities:
Must be able to effectively operate all assembly equipment in assigned area (Niche, Bench, Curb).
Participate in daily turnover meeting among assemblers / team leads at shift change.
Support Assemblers if they have questions with the machines and/or with operation of equipment & computers.
Must be able to troubleshoot and monitor assembly operations & address issues as they arise in relation to production: assembler adjustments, glue machines adjustments troubleshooting assembly defects, operational errors.
Support the training of assemblers - assist in the candidate’s final qualification to work independently on all types of finished product.
Support the assemblers in the processes of quality control in assembly operations - including verification of finished product.
Ability to determine root cause & remediation of quality issues with the assemblers.
If not able to resolve an issue in a timely manner escalate the issue to Team Lead / Secondary Operations Supervisor. Issue maintenance work-orders as needed.
Strong computer skills with ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel.
Ability to learn/operate Infor WMS/ API Pro
Act as back group leads to respective areas (Niche, Bench, Curb).
Recognize Safety Issues and take appropriate actions.
Monitor material movement in & out of assembly areas.
Must be able to communicate effectively at all business levels.
Ability to prioritize and respond to shifting demands.
Requirements Experience:
Prior assembly/production and manufacturing experience a plus.
Blueprint reading consider an asset.
Understanding of lean process & manufacturing tools a plus.
Represent Schluter Systems in a professional, positive and enthusiastic manner in all matters
Comply with occupational safety regulations
Ability to work any shift, overtime and holidays if needed, or on call availability.
Education:
Two year degree or technical training degree/certification
Combination of experience and specific industry related training and experience may substitute formal education requirements
