System Administrator - Retail Environment (GKOmniPOS)

: As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining the health, stability, and performance of in-store retail systems and technologies. This includes supporting integrated platforms, managing hardware and software configurations, and troubleshooting complex issues affecting store operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system upgrades, new feature rollouts, and incident resolution, ensuring seamless operations across the retail environment.
Key Responsibilities: • Perform daily system checks, backups, OS updates, and configuration changes • Install and configure hardware and software across supported systems • Maintain documentation and ensure security and compliance of systems • Manage user accounts, passwords, and access controls • Troubleshoot technical issues and respond to system queries • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting • Support retail operations by resolving issues with registers, workstations, and servers • Assist users with software-related problems and coordinate hardware replacements • Ensure adherence to service processes and document resolutions • Configure OS and POS software settings for retail devices • Administer and support GKOmniPOS software and wireless infrastructure • Manage Active Directory Domain and Certificate Services (Windows Server 2019) • Collaborate with vendors on application builds and risk remediation
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies: • Proven experience in systems administration within a retail environment • Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2019 and Active Directory • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation • Experience with POS systems, preferably GKOmniPOS • Familiarity with wireless infrastructure and network troubleshooting • Ability to install, configure, and maintain hardware/software • Strong documentation and compliance skills • Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams • Experience coordinating with vendors for hardware and software support • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $60.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
