Wage Range: $160,076 - $256,089 per year

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

Job Summary

Responsible for supervision of pharmacy retail and refill services under the direction of the Manager - Pharmacy Ambulatory Services and the Executive Director of Pharmacy Services. This individual will focus on day-to-day operations management, staff oversight, contributions towards program development, drug utilization, medication safety, cost/benefit initiatives, and regulatory compliance.

Primary Duties:
  1. Manages the day-to-day operations of the retail pharmacy location(s).
  2. Manages the day-to-day operations of the Refill Management Service.
  3. Serves as the Pharmacist-in-Charge with 24/7 pharmacy accountability (self or assignment of proxy).
  4. Maintains DEA, pharmacy, and staff license compliance.
  5. Serves as the contact for the pharmacy wholesaler, PBM, software, and other vendors.
  6. Performs invoice review and approval.
  7. Supervises the provision of patient care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, specific to the age of the patient population served.
  8. Identifies, implements and supports professional development initiatives.
  9. Recommends and supports strategies to promote safe, cost-effective, quality pharmacotherapy.
  10. Identifies and contributes to the development of new services, workflow efficiencies and clinical initiatives.
  11. Prepares the retail pharmacy areas for survey and accreditation visits by external agencies.
  12. Writes, reviews, and approves departmental policies and procedures in collaboration with the Mgr-Pharmacy Ambulatory Services and Executive Director of Pharmacy.
  13. Administers the guidelines for the staff schedule, attendance, punctuality and overall dependability of the retail and refill pharmacy teams including time keeping system review and approval.
  14. Performs HR activities, including performance evaluations, and holds supervisory responsibility for effective staff performance and follow through of assigned responsibilities and for the completion of responsibilities within the designated (or agreed upon) timeframes. This individual will monitor the completion of staff responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational policies, goals and values.
  15. Commitment and attention to continuous improvement in organizational and technical systems.
  16. Provides assistance and support to the pharmacy leadership team as required.
  17. Contributes towards collaboration between all pharmacy practice areas.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.
