JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overseeing the Company’s retail strategy and customers (Lowe’s, The Home Depot, Menards, Sherwin Willams and PPG). The position requires in-depth knowledge of the retail channel, strong collaboration with sales, manufacturing, product and advertising marketing, logistics, and the customer service center to maximize price, volume, market share and service to the retail channel. Leadership and collaboration responsibilities: The position supervises two National Account Managers and one Retail Sales Analyst, collaborates with sales management to implement retail sales strategies, and maintains strong customer engagement and understanding of retail market approaches.
Analytical and operational duties: The role includes presenting market trends to leadership, supporting integrated business planning with sales and supply teams, monitoring competitive pricing, ensuring product availability, and managing customer rebates and sales plans.
Qualifications and work conditions: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in business or marketing, at least three years of relevant retail sales or marketing experience in building materials, strong communication and analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and BI tools, and willingness to travel up to %. The position offers eligibility for a hybrid work schedule. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive): Supervise two national account managers and one retail sales analyst.
Collaborate with sales management to develop, coordinate, and support the implementation of sales strategies across the retail channel.
Maintain a high level of customer engagement with corporate staff and appropriate field personnel to cultivate an in-depth understanding of their go-to-market strategies.
Work with marketing to ensure all aspects of Brand Advocate and digital support are up to date and forward thinking.
Present to NGC leadership, industry trends and competitive actions within the channel.
Attend applicable Area Managers’ Meetings and Area Sales Meetings to present on the retail channel.
Partner with sales, demand and supply planning teams to provide data and trends for the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
Support sales and demand planning by providing market forecast insights.
Monitor, report and recommend a response to competitive pricing issues.
Monitor our plant network to ensure product availability to support customer/channel growth.
Manage the review, revision, implementation, and monitoring of customer rebates.
Establish and monitor specific customer sales plans and strategy.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
This position currently offers eligibility for a hybrid work schedule. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or marketing is required.
Minimum of years’ experience in sales and/or marketing with experience in the retail channel of the building materials industry.
Strong communication, organizational and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across sales, manufacturing, logistics, and the customer service center to build consensus and effectively coordinate daily distribution plans.
Advanced proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel, Power BI, and Business Intelligence tools.
Demonstrated analytical abilities for conducting market, customer, and plant network analysis to identify actionable business opportunities.
