Overview Sr. Manager of Retail Licensing and Compliance Westborough, MA The Senior Manager of Retail Licensing and Compliance oversees retail licensing and compliance functions and ensures that retail stores receive all required federal, state, and local retail licenses. They will implement and oversee all compliance initiatives related to the retail business (including alcohol, tobacco, foodservice, and lottery). Base pay range $125,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Mount Kemble Search Group Responsibilities Supervise a Retail Licensing and Compliance team (Retail Licensing Supervisor and Sr. Compliance Specialist and indirectly supervise a team of Retail Licensing Coordinators). Oversee the establishment and maintenance of departmental requirements such as standard operating procedures, licensing software integrations, and compliance tracking. Assist cross-functionally, partnering with Marketing, Real Estate, and Construction teams. Support special projects related to acquisitions, divestments, and expanded store offerings. Communicate with government agencies to help resolve licensing and compliance matters. Work closely with internal and external legal advisors on an as-needed basis. Strong understanding of the process for obtaining and renewing retail licenses required in the convenience store industry. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and call out areas for improvement. Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to reprioritize tasks as needed to accommodate the needs of the business. Works well within a small team but also self-motivated to work independently. Qualifications 7+ years of experience with retail licensing and compliance Experience supervising/managing a team Strong interpersonal and presentation skills Ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization Working knowledge of licensing software ("License HQ" or similar web-based software) Must have an associate or bachelors degree Experience in food services, grocery, convenience or retail industries Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize a time sensitive workload Must be able to work within a small team, as necessary Self-motivated to work independently in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Occasional travel may be required Physical Requirements Minimal physical effort required, sitting/standing at computer for long periods of time. Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 lbs.
