Salary: $20 Summary:An Shop assistant must exhibit character and work ethic that is consistent with the companys mission, vision, goals, and objectives always putting the TEAMs goals before individual ones. This individual assists the head mechanic and field service mechanic with rental returns, PMs and repairs. The head mechanic is consulted regarding methods and practices to implement the safest and most efficient methods possible. It is at the head mechanics discretion as to which tasks can be completed with limited supervision. Assistant mechanics are under the head mechanics instruction but report to the service manager in the same regards. The types of equipment that fall under the scope of work include but are not limited to excavators, skidsteers, trucks (gas and diesel), hydroseeders, mulch blowers, backhoes, and any other specialty equipment or small tools that apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following: Complete rental returns timely and efficiently under the supervision of the head mechanic. Assist the head mechanic in the cleaning of the maintenance/garage area. Assist the head mechanic with the repairs of vehicles and equipment as needed. Support the field projects with the delivery and pick-up of materials and equipment. Capable of operating yard equipment Clean/Pressure wash equipment Inventory/ Outfit Trucks Miscellaneous: Assist with other yard duties as assigned Assist in the disposal and removal of obsolete vehicle and equipment off the property Qualifications/Requirements: Thorough knowledge of vehicle and equipment utilization and repair Good written and verbal skills Punctual Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to multi-task Approved to drive class C vehicles Education/Experience/Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Minimum six months to 1 year of relevant experience Pass a drug, DMV, E-Verify and background check
