About the OpportunityHireQuest is seeking a Server/Banquet Server, Line Cook/Culinary Staff, & Dishwasher to join our Client for upcoming events. Experience is preferred but not required. Food handlers permit required.
Food Server/Banquet Server:
- Performing opening duties such as setting tables, polishing glasses, folding napkins, and replenishing condiments.
- Attending pre-shift and general meetings to update knowledge of special offers and stock-related issues, and to discuss service and product matters.
- Assisting management and hosts to meet, greet, and seat guests, and issuing them food and wine menus.
- Introducing yourself to guests and informing them of special offers and stock shortages before they select items off the menu.
- Ensuring beverages are served swiftly and replenished continuously.
- Ensuring accuracy when entering orders into the point of sale (POS) system.
- Following up on food and beverage orders with the back of house (BOH).
- Checking on guests to establish satisfaction with the product and overall experience and providing management with feedback.
- Issuing guests with their check on request and greeting and thanking them sincerely on departure.
- Performing closing duties such as sweeping and vacuuming and preparing linens for collection by laundry service.
Food Server Requirements:
- Proficient with maintaining a solid customer base.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding people skills.
- Well-groomed, professional appearance.
- Available to work shifts, extended hours, over weekends and holidays.
- Physically fit, agile, and dexterous.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Proficient time-management skills.
Culinary Staff/Line Cook
Prepare and cook food, while also maintaining a clean and safe kitchen.Cooks may also help with menu planning, ordering ingredients, and training other kitchen staff.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation:Wash, chop, and marinate ingredients
- Cooking:Bake, fry, grill, and boil food
- Food safety:Follow food safety and sanitation regulations
- Kitchen maintenance:Clean workspaces, utensils, and dishes
- Food storage:Manage food storage and stock levels
- Menu planning:Help plan menus and order ingredients
- Recipe selection:Select and follow recipes
- Dietary needs:Adjust recipes to meet special dietary requirements
- Presentation:Present attractive, garnished dishes
- Communication:Liaise with wait staff and management
Must have culinary experience, professional demeanor and ability to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to follow instructions and lead with limited direction. Must be able to follow all food safety guidelines and regulations.
Dishwasher:
- Ensuring the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas.
- Preparing dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations.
- Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc.
- Unloading and storing deliveries.
- Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
- Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans.
- Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.
- Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.
Dishwasher Requirements:
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 20 pounds.
- Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures.
Other Requirements:
Non-slip black shoes, black slacks/pants, and a black shirt.
- Weekly payat $20.00/hour while on assignment
