Senior Retail Food Service & Catering Manager

The Senior Retail Food Service & Catering Manager position is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial manager who is constantly seeking a better way to conduct business. This individual will be responsible for the successful operation of retail/cafeteria services as well as the planning and execution of all catering functions, ensuring excellence in service, food quality, and client satisfaction.

Our Sr Retail and Catering Managers perform a variety of duties including the planning and supervision of catered events and special functions, maintaining cash controls and payroll records, and hiring and training hourly team members. They ensure customer satisfaction and positive public relations through the safe, efficient use of resources and delivery of high-quality service in both retail and catered environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily administrative and operational tasks
  • Handles all aspects of staff management
  • Manages all financials including budget development, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Maintains knowledge of the market place and trends
  • Manages cost controls and controls expenditures for the account
  • Oversees sanitation and safety of assigned unit(s)
  • Purchases and manages inventory
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes all catering functions from start to finish
  • Works closely with clients and departments to tailor catering menus and services
  • Ensures successful event execution including setup, staffing, and breakdown
  • Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
  • Acts as the direct liaison with the client for both retail and catering services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree preferred, or A.A. Degree plus related experience
  • Three or more years supervisory experience in food service operations
  • Supervisory experience in a healthcare, senior living, retirement, or related environment desirable
  • Knowledge of retail, catering, and food trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Leadership, management and coaching skills
  • Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, the Internet, and other necessary computer programs
  • ServSafe Certified
