Pay Range: $105000 - $120000 / year Position Summary A Field Service Technician handles on-site servicing, diagnostics, and repairs for a company’s electrical products or equipment

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties • PM (Preventative Maintenance) Equipment Audits • Assist Supervisors/Crews as needed with troubleshooting equipment issues, onsite or via remote communications • Assist Supervisors/Crews as needed with equipment repairs to the rail grinders, undercutters & surfacing equipment located throughout the North American continent. • Train equipment personnel on troubleshooting techniques • Aid with design improvements to rail grinders, undercutters & surfacing equipment as needed • Lead or assist with completion of major repairs / overhauls of rail grinders, undercutters & surfacing equipment Required Skills and Qualifications • Five (5) years of experience with railroad maintenance of way equipment • Five (5) years of experience leading a PM or Service program on railroad maintenance of way equipment • Willing to take phone calls at all hours, any day of the week • Previous experience working with hydraulics • Understanding of and experience with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and pressure relief devices. • Ability to work from Electrical schematics, Hydraulic schematics, Pneumatic schematics. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees. • Must be able to travel at least 70% of the time. • The ability to obtain a valid passport. • Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic. • Pay commensurate with experience. • Must be 18 years or older • Ability to meet deadlines • Ability to work in shop and field environments • Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work being performed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions • Works both indoors and outdoors • Travels to field locations to provide repairs or maintenance • Frequently performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as standing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching and handling of materials, equipment and tools • Uses hands and fingers to operate equipment and tools involved in repairs • Lifts, pushes, pulls, and carry heavy objects, machinery, and tools up to 50 pounds • Works around vehicles and machinery with moving parts • Exposed to exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel • May be exposed to harsh weather conditions • May be exposed to loud noise.
