About the Position The Senior Director of Retail Merchandising plays a pivotal role in leading our Buying team, overseeing all aspects of an assigned category. You will be responsible for crafting and executing comprehensive strategies that align with our company's business goals. Your strategies will encompass merchandising, promotions, and go-to-market initiatives, leveraging your deep understanding of customer needs, competitive analysis, and category trends. In this competitive retail landscape, you will lead the buying teams to discover new business opportunities, understand market trends, enhance product assortment, and drive profitability. Collaboration across departments is essential to champion your strategies effectively. Key Responsibilities: Lead a team focused on assigned categories while collaborating with Planning and Allocation teams. Develop and implement strategies that achieve sales and margin targets aligned with company objectives. Foster collaboration with Merchandise Planning and Allocation, Product Development, Store Operations, Digital, Marketing, and vendors. Drive the business forward by analyzing sales data to spot trends and maximize product opportunities. Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating agreements to support business goals. Support the professional development and career growth of your team. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree; MBA preferred. 8-10 years experience in Buying/Planning roles with increasing leadership responsibilities. Proven ability to analyze data and make informed business decisions. Strong track record of identifying growth opportunities and achieving financial objectives. Excellent strategic, customer-focused, analytical, and financial skills.
