The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel with a focus on managed care contracting to join their legal affairs team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters related to managed care and payer contracting, including value-based reimbursement models and contract negotiation strategies. This role requires a strategic and detail-oriented in-house attorney with at least 8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably within a large health system, payor organization, law firm, or consulting firm with a focus on healthcare transactions and managed care contracting. The Senior Counsel will provide legal and business guidance on complex contractual and regulatory issues, ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and serve as a trusted advisor to system leadership.
Applicants for the Senior Counsel position at the company should have a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, an active license to practice law in the State of New Jersey or eligibility for in-house counsel licensure in NJ, and a minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience. Deep expertise in managed care contracting, health plan operations, and regulatory frameworks governing provider-payer relationships is essential. The role also requires a demonstrated ability to negotiate high-stakes contracts, excellent communication skills, and experience with value-based payment models and risk arrangements. The Senior Counsel will be involved in contract drafting, negotiation, and review, as well as monitoring and interpreting regulatory developments. Additionally, the candidate should have a background in healthcare economics, reimbursement methodologies, and health system finance, and be familiar with contract lifecycle management systems and legal operations software.
