Replacement for terminated staff Job Summary Responsible for leading the contract team in the interpretation and formulation of provider contracts, supporting team members in understanding policies, procedures, methods, operating practices, and performance standards. Collaborates with Configuration, Claims, and Finance to ensure correct loading of contract terms. Facilitates effective implementation of contract responsibilities within program objectives and requirements. Reviews and resolves complex issues and contracts. Advises management on contractual rights and obligations, providing interpretation of terms and conditions. Serves as the lead negotiator for Commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid ACO contracts, including fee-for-service, shared savings, and risk-based agreements for hospitals, healthcare systems, and large provider groups. Gathers analytical information to determine effective negotiation strategies. Evaluates, negotiates, and develops proposals to ensure contracts meet financial requirements and align with corporate initiatives. Ensures contract language aligns with organizational outcomes. Works independently throughout the contracting process, developing and maintaining complex provider relationships, including detailed financial analysis and development of contracting approaches and action plans. Represents Provider Contracting on projects, committees, and within the organization. Maintains knowledge of regulatory, business, and political environments impacting contracts. Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments. Integrates diversity, equity, and inclusion principles. Builds strong relationships, establishing Mass General Brigham as a people-first organization. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree plus 5-7 years of related experience; Master’s Degree preferred. Knowledge of the local MA market complexities. Experience with Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and D-SNP lines of business. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience with large system, hospital, and physician network contracting. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Expertise in provider contracting mechanics and complexities. Successful negotiation experience with complex providers, strong financial and analytical skills. Proficiency with analytical tools and systems. Leadership, decision-making, and relationship-building skills. Experience working with senior management and external stakeholders. Additional Job Details Working Conditions Remote position with occasional travel to Somerville, MA.
