RISE Academy is a subsidiary of RISE Education System, a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Cognia. It is our mission to promote the holistic development of the child through an authentic and experiential student learning experience. This is accomplished by educating the child in the formation of faith, family, and community. We are looking to hire for ajanitorialposition at RISE Academy in San Jose, California. This is a full-time position reporting to the Facilities Director.

Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Occasional Weekends Required

Responsibilities Include:

• Performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting all areas of the school.
• Ensuring the proper maintenance of school grounds, including landscaping, trash removal, and minor repairs.
• Monitoring and maintaining facility equipment and supplies; reporting any repairs or replacements needed.
• Responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Assisting with the setup and takedown of furniture and equipment for events, assemblies, and other school activities.
• Conducting safety inspections of the campus to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Managing inventory ofjanitorialsupplies and submitting restocking requests as needed.
• Supporting the Facilities Director with additional projects or duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Skills/Qualities:

• Proven experience injanitorialor maintenance work.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and general repair skills.
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning and maintenance equipment.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and administration.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  
  

Preferred Skills/Qualities (not required):

• Prior commercial cleaning/janitorialexperience.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety regulations.
• Certification in facility maintenance or related fields is a plus.
