Seasonal Retail Store Clerk (Oct - Jan)

Summary/Objective

The Retail Store Clerk is responsible for assisting customers with their sales transaction(s) and also assists in operating store. Essential Functions

Stock shelves, counters or displays with merchandise.

Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on shelves, counters, or displays to promote sales.

Appropriately price tag merchandise.

Obtain merchandise requested by customer or receive merchandise selected by customer.

Answer customer questions concerning location, price and ingredients of merchandise.

Provide the total price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine amount due.

Accept payment and prepare cash change. Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.

Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift.

Calculate sales discounts to determine price.

Keep record of sales, prepare inventory of stock and order merchandise.

Keep the retail store clean and presentable.

Assists in restocking and packing of products.

Work in unison with other team members to actively promote a team atmosphere.

This position operates in a retail environment with merchandise displays and items available for purchase. Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Monday- Friday, 9 am- 6 pm with some Saturdays, hours will vary by schedule. Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED.

Previous retail or customer service experience.
