Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented, Part-time, weekends, Retail Store Associate to join our team! As a associate, you will assist customers with their shopping needs and ensure an excellent shopping experience. Responsibilities may include working the register, stocking shelves, processing inventory, and maintaining the stores appearance. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in customer service and knowledge of cash register operation, preference given to those with experience in a pet food and pet supply store.

Serious applications only. This role has several possibilities for progression and schedule. It will likely entail either 4 shorter days, or a mix of longer and shorter days to make 18-25 hours per week. More would be available depending on business (holidays, other people vacations & sick days, and such), but this position will not be over 35 hours on a regular basis at any point. Responsibilities

Greet each customer with a smile and provide assistance while they are shopping
Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures.
Work at a register to ring up and carry out customer sales.
Collect payments by cash and credit card
Issue receipts and refunds to customers
Take added responsibility for stocking, inventory, and store maintenance.
Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives as set forth by the company.
Develop and maintain solid product knowledge in order to best help customers with their selections.
Restocking.
Cleanliness and aesthetic of store and store merchandise.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (or in school, 16 plus)
You will encounter dogs every day, cats every so often, and sometimes even other animals.
Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively in English
Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service
Willingness to work well in a team environment
Ability to quickly and accurately work a register
Willingness to work weekends
Must be able to stand for long periods
Must be able to lift 40 lbs and 80 lbs with help (Dog food bags)
Consistent and adequate attendance is required.
Reliable transportation is required.
18 or older, as this is a key holding, cash handling position
