Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Retail Store Locksmith to join our team. This role involves providing expert locksmith services in a retail environment, including key duplication, rekeying, lock repairs, automotive key programming, and more. Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction & Sales: Greet and assist customers with lock and key needs.
Explain and demonstrate products, including key blanks, locks, rekey kits, padlocks, and safes.
Recommend appropriate security products and services based on customer requirements.
Educate customers about lock and key security, car key programming, pick locks, and rekeying.
Locksmith Services: Cut and duplicate keys accurately.
Rekey residential and commercial locks.
Install, repair, and service various lock systems.
Program automotive transponder keys and key fobs.
Use lock-picking tools and other locksmith equipment safely and effectively.
Administrative & Operational Tasks: Generate and manage customer invoices and work orders using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Answer phones and respond to customer inquiries professionally.
Maintain inventory of key blanks, tools, and lock hardware.
Order parts, supplies, and locksmith materials as needed.
Display and restock merchandise to ensure an organized and appealing retail space.
Ensure compliance with local locksmithing laws and safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
Excellent attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable with computers and using basic software (POS systems, inventory management, email, etc.).
Ability to read, interpret, and follow product manuals and diagrams.
Experience answering phones and handling in-person customer requests.
Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and card transactions.
Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior locksmithing experience (retail or field).
Automotive key programming knowledge (OBD/diagnostic tools, cloning).
