Sol’s Jewelry and Loan is looking for a results-driven Sales Associate to be responsible for all sales job duties.

This individual will:

• Work as part of a team to meet department and store objectives while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
• Be passionate about learning new things and wanting to become an expert at evaluating items

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and improve customer engagement with merchandise by answering their questions and providing outstanding customer service
• Actively seek out customers in store
• Work closely with customers to assess their needs, provide assistance, and build a trust relationship that results in building a clientele base with repeat business
• Remain knowledgeable about Sol’s products to offer information, demonstrate features, answer questions, and be able to recommend the right solutions to our customers
• Continually grow expertise on products offered and appropriate pricing ranges for product coming in on loan and going out for sale
• Cross sell products
• Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
• Resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction
• Handle returns of merchandise
• Operate cash registers, process credit cards, and manage financial transactions
• Follow and assist in achieving store’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
• Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s layout)
• Receive merchandise including unloading/unpacking it and marking it with codes to be identified
• Keep the selling floor stocked with merchandise and arrange displays that keep the customers engaged
• Comply with inventory control procedures
• Maintain the store area ensuring cleanliness and organization
• Assist with answering the phone in a timely, professional manner
• Adheres to all Sol’s Jewelry and Loan safety policies and practices
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related fields
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build rapport with customers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong negotiation skills

Requirements

• High school degree; Associate degree in Business, Marketing, or related field would be a plus
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Proven work experience as a Retail Sales associate, Sales representative or similar role preferred
• Able to comfortably greet customers and make small talk

Working Conditions

• Sales floor or warehouse environment
• Ability to work standing for long periods of time
• Ability to walk up flights of stairs and/or work in confined spaces
• Periodically works in outside weather conditions
• Periodically works near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Availability to work flexible shifts that may include weekend, holiday or evening work as needed

*Sol’s Jewelry and Loan will provide training and personal protective equipment as necessary.
