This position performs all required tasks necessary for the department's daily functions and handles a high volume of work with minimal direct supervision. **The value you'll bring to the team:** + Processes prescriptions by obtaining patient and insurance information, maintaining current patient data, and ensuring pharmacist verification before distribution. + Prepares and dispenses medications accurately under the supervision of a pharmacist, including compounding and labeling prescriptions. + Communicates with patients, physicians, and other healthcare practitioners regarding prescription status, transfers, and potential delays. + Maintains inventory by coordinating receiving, stocking, checking for discrepancies, and monitoring expiration dates. + Manages pharmaceutical expenses by reviewing costs, using correct codes, and utilizing patient assistance programs. **The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:** **Minimum qualifications** : + High School Grad or Equivalent + Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) + Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT-LIC) + 2 years of pharmacy technician experience, in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill, or hospital setting. **Preferred qualifications:** + Associate degree + Prior experience processing and filling prescriptions This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
